Parks Base

Welcome to Parks Base. Parks Base is a collaborative program between Parks and Leisure Australia (PLA) and Integrated Open Space Services (IOSS).

Parks Base collects, organises and reports on important information about public open space planning and management in Australia.

Parks Base is used at local, regional and national levels to:

• Share knowledge
• Inform planning & management
• Support resource advocacy
• Compare information

Parks Base has two areas:

• The Knowledge Base allows for the sharing of information sources, documents, studies and current research
• The Comparison Program enables monitoring of aspects of public open space planning and management by participating government authorities.
